ENHANCE USER EXPERIENCE USING ANIMATIONS

   THE challenge

REPLACE THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL

The Yepp product series made by GMG and designed by Van Der Veer are very successful in the international market. However, they receive complaints from the users stating they have problems with installing the seats on the bicycles.

USE AN INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE

As the company is a world wide leader in bicycle child seats it was important that all customers would understand the video from Asia to the Middle East. So telling a story using solely visuals an internationally known references were the challenge.

During one of the meetings with the CEO and CFO of GMB B.V.

THE SOLUTION

Together with Ruben Matevosyan and Mauricio Sandoval we developed, designed and produced a series of instruction animations for the Yepp Maxi product line. As these chairs are made for children we decided to stay close to the users and transformed Yepp's logo into a character called the 'Yepp Genie'. This genie then uses his magical powers to mount the chair on the bicycle.

MY ROLE

My role within this team of three industrial designers was to help write the story and design the characters. I combined and edited the 3D environment with the animated characters and finally complete animation with sounds effects.

THE RESULT

The entire serie got published on youtube and is available to watch below.

PRODUCTION OF A VIDEO TO MAKE A STATEMENT

The challenges

MAKE A STATEMENT

After a thorough research and development process in the field of 'Drones for Good', Alec Momont finished with a concept which could potentially make a huge international statement.

"YOU'VE GOT A WEEK"

As the film wasn't possible until the very end of the project, I got the responsibility to plan, produce (and edit) the entire film in one week.

The concept

The ambulance drone is a concept, developed by Alec Momont, in support of the 'Drones for Good'. This concept drone comes equipped with a defribilator and will operate in a network of similar drones in order to fly to any location where any victim could be.

The team

Alec Momont - Project Lead

Samy Andary - Director and Producer

Tomas van Harten - Director of Photography

Rebecca ter Mors - Actress

THE RESULT

The video played a big part for this projects' international media attention. Within 1 week after a Dutch late night show showed the video it was picked up by many media agencies around the world.
